Description
This massive barn was built in the early 1900’s by immigrants who came over from Norway in The late 1800’s. It was one of the finest and largest barns in the state of North Dakota. The farming, which was all done by horses had a large section you can’t see and was the place where many farm horses were kept. Cattle were sheltered in the section on the right..
Because of the long hard winters, the upper part of the barns had to hold enough hay to feed all the farm animals for six months.
Although deteriorated over the years, this huge structure is still standing on the wind swept fields of North Dakota.

Thank you Michael. Of course it doesn't show from this view but the left side of this image of the barn extends to the other side as well, making it a "T" shaped structure. I understand the horses used in farming were kept in that part of the barn. This painting was extremely well received by the person it was gifted to at Christmas, 2017. He had worked in and around this barn from a very early age, and through his youthful years.
