"1st Place:Your work is EXCELLENT! " This painting recently won an FAA contest consisting of 424 paintings and photographs from 215 members. 251 votes were cast, Sea Foam was selected as the winner. The statement "1st Place:Your work is EXCELLENT!," was the prize.
I reversed my reference photo of the Pemiquid Point lighthouse in Maine. This is my first attempt at moving water, using several layers of masking fluid for this painting. In a "true watercolor" the white seen in the painting is the white of the paper. No white paint was used in this one. I very seldom use any white paint in my paintings.
