Description

This old shed is part of a hillside farm in the Forillon National Park, New Bruswick, Canada. The door was open, of course I had to see what was inside. Ageing and texture is what I discovered. Old beams and boards, constructed long, long ago had maintained their toughness and strength, their rough surfaces attesting to their durability. It was the door that caught my attention, a piece of sculpture, an artistic creation worthy of admiration. How many coats of paint had it accepted over those many years, how long did it take for the paint to fade, the harsh weather of the seacoast adding textures to its rugged surface? A suggestion of the offerings of nature is barely visible through the opened door way, however, I choose to remain here, in admiration of a beautiful piece of historical art.
